|The California African American Museum (CAAM) researches, collects, preserves, and interprets the art, history, and culture of African Americans. CAAM conducts lectures, discussions, workshops, film presentations, poetry readings, and art and design classes aimed at furthering the understanding and appreciation of the African culture. The museum also holds events for children and families to expand their imagination and encourage creativity.|
CAAM’s 44,000 square foot building hosts a large front lobby, research library, museum store, and several galleries that display both its permanent and visiting collections.
